When should I call?

We emphasise the importance of only calling in an emergency to minimise callout costs. If your electrical fault is not an emergency, then please call during standard business hours and we will schedule in your work. We only respond to genuine electrical emergencies that impact the safety of your household for our after-hours electrical service.

Examples of after-hours emergency callouts we respond to include:

• Light exploding

• Anything that poses a safety risk

Before we attend to a loss of power emergency, we recommend consulting the Ergon Energy power outage finder to see if it’s a localised problem in your street or suburb. It may also help to unplug all appliances before trying the switchboard again to see if the problem is localised to an appliance shorting. If you can’t do this safely, just give us a ring and we’ll be out as soon as possible.
